Steinberg & Price is led by a group of former public officials with more than two decades of combined service in planning, permitting and development review. We have written staff reports, sat through the hearings, drafted the conditions and negotiated the agreements. We know what a reviewer is looking for because we were the reviewer.
That experience is the whole business. It lets us see early whether a project will clear, shape it so that it does, and move it faster than applicants who are learning the process as they go.

Our work spans master plan development, mixed-use projects, commercial tenant use, development agreements, public-private partnerships, rezoning, general plan amendments and conditional use permits, among others. Client projects are held under strict confidentiality agreements, so we don't publish a portfolio. We're happy to discuss relevant experience directly once we understand your project.
Selective by design
We take on fewer projects than we could. Every one we accept is a project we believe we can carry to approval. That means we sometimes say no, and when we do, we'll tell you why. Nothing in this field is guaranteed. But our track record comes from being honest at the start and relentless through the finish.
Northern California, and beyond when it makes sense
Our home ground is Northern California, where we know the jurisdictions, the staff and the politics. We'll consider work elsewhere when we're confident our involvement will meaningfully improve the chance of success.
