Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026 · Steinberg & Price
1. Who we are
Steinberg & Price ("S&P," "we," "us") is a land use consulting firm serving Northern California. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. For questions, contact hello@steinberg-price.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, phone number (optional), your role (developer, property owner, attorney, public agency or other), the property location, its current zoning if known, a description of what you'd like to do with the property, where you are in the process, and how you heard about us. If you email us directly, we collect the contents of that email.
Information collected automatically. Our website is hosted by Squarespace, which collects standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring site and the date and time of your visit. Squarespace uses cookies for this purpose and to keep the site functioning. See Squarespace's own policies at squarespace.com/privacy and squarespace.com/cookie-policy.
We do not collect payment information through this website.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we can take on your project.
- To communicate with you about a potential or existing engagement.
- To maintain records of our communications and engagements.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only:
- With service providers that help us run the business, such as Squarespace (website hosting and form handling) and our email provider. They may process your information only on our behalf.
- With professionals on your project, such as engineers, architects or attorneys you have selected, when you ask us to or when it is necessary to perform the services you've engaged us for.
- With public agencies when required to prepare or submit applications on your behalf, with your authorization.
- When required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order or lawful request, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
- In a business transfer, if S&P is merged, acquired or sells its assets, in which case your information may be transferred to the successor, subject to this policy.
5. Confidentiality of project information
Details about your property and proposed project that you share with us are treated as confidential and handled as described in our Terms of Service, whether or not we ultimately take on your project.
6. How long we keep information
We keep contact-form inquiries for up to [2] years so we can follow up and maintain a record of who has contacted us. If you become a client, we keep engagement records for as long as needed to perform the services and for [7] years afterward to meet legal, accounting and professional obligations. Technical data collected by Squarespace is retained under Squarespace's policies.
7. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by emailing hello@steinberg-price.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and verify your identity before acting on a request. We may keep information we are required to retain by law or that is needed to complete an engagement.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their privacy rights.
